Certain conditions are required to be fulfilled before Muslim women can undertake Hajj. There are a few Hajj rules for ladies which they need to follow during the Hajj pilgrimage.
A Mahram is compulsory for a woman, who wants to travel or go for Hajj, to accompany her during the pilgrimage. Rules for lady pilgrims require them to provide all documents related to the relationship of a woman with her Mahram.
According to the rules and regulation of the Saudi government, a woman above an age of 45 is allowed to go on Hajj with her fellow pilgrims. She is required to submit N.O.C from her mahram and must travel with an organized group.
It is recommended for a married woman to request her husband’s permission before starting her Hajj journey.
A widow is not allowed to embark on Hajj in the period of iddah. Once the mourning period (iddah) gets over, she may perform her obligatory Hajj, provided all other conditions are fulfilled.
